dc.description.abstractRecently the maintenance process of the water pumping station in Da Nang Software Park has several problems relating to both the delay time in management and the safety of the staff. Due to the long distance (about 70m) from the water pumping station to the office, it takes quite a lot of time to check and manage the pumps as well as collecting data process. In some specific situations, the maintenance staff might be put in danger because of some phenomenon such as water, pressure and electricity leaking. Therefore, the need for a remote monitoring device for water pumping station is very necessary. After hours of discussing, our team decide to use an application of Internet of things to execute the project because of its popularity, familiar and easy to manage. A device with the combination of microcontroller, Wifi chip ESP8266 and several sensors can make the work done properly with a sufficient amount of effort. We use the sensors and the microcontroller to measure and display the main data of the water pumping station. And then with the communication of the Wifi chip and the microcontroller, values of the station will be uploaded to the already built server of the Da Nang Software Park and be ready to monitor in the office. All the stages of the project including the sampling of the sensors are programmed and executed by Arduino IDE software (C/C++). To full fill the requirement of the project, the basic information about how the pumps operated and the daily maintenance process of the staff are firstly achieved with the help of our supervisors Mr. Nhan. At the same time, we apply the learned knowledge about schematic, printed circuit board and electrical components to do some research and carefully analyze the ways to build the product. The remote observation device for water pumping station is anticipated to operate stably in the common condition of the pump station (15 - 30 celsius degree) with the compact size (about 10cm*15cm) to install inside the technical box at the station (7-10V DC power source).vi
