dc.description.abstractIn a network system, time synchronization plays an extremely crucial factor when devices are not only required to operate at a very high speed but also maintain the function correctly. This factor holds a position in many IoT, control, monitoring and communication networks where the order of packets must be preserved at the receiving ends. In telecommunication, time synchronization has long been a critical spot as well as a concern in maintaining the reliable operation of the whole network system. However, the 5G network has bringed new challenges to all existing synchronization systems that are designed for 4G network as the fifth generation network requires even stricter time alignment while being deployed on a more robust and complicated infrastructure. All the advanced features, services and the promising high bandwidth of the 5G network cannot be realized without time synchronization between the whole network.en_US
