In the context of the increasingly urgent need for energy conservation and emission reduction, energy analysis to evaluate operational efficiency and propose optimization solutions is essential. This study employs the energy balance method based on the principle of energy conservation, enabling the determination of energy input from fuel, useful energy converted into electrical power, and energy losses occurring in components such as the boiler, steam turbine, and condenser. Exergy analysis, based on the second law of thermodynamics, is used to evaluate irreversible losses within the system, thereby identifying areas with the highest potential for efficiency improvement in each component of the Nong Son Thermal Power Plant in Da Nang. In addition, the study applies simulation and calculation tools to assess the impact of optimization solutions on the overall plant performance. The research results propose applicable solutions to enhance the operational efficiency of the Nong son Thermal Power Plant, contributing to fuel savings, reduction in electricity production costs, and mitigation of negative environmental impacts. Furthermore, the proposed methods and solutions can be applied to thermal power plants with similar operating conditions, thereby improving energy utilization efficiency in Vietnam’s power sector.en_US
